1 SAMUEL 16:7 (NIV)
BUT THE LORD SAID TO SAMUEL, "DO NOT CONSIDER HIS APPEARANCE OR HIS HEIGHT, FOR
I HAVE REJECTED HIM. THE LORD DOES NOT LOOK AT THINGS PEOPLE LOOK AT. PEOPLE
LOOK AT THE OUTWARD APPEARANCE, BUT I THE LORD LOOKS AT THE HEART.
How many of you know that just because something doesn't look like much does not mean God can't multiply it and use it tremendously?
As I was speaking to my Mother on the phone, she was saying that she was tossing out some beans that went to waste. So I suggested that next time she use half of the bag instead. I went on to say how it is crazy that a bag of dry beans doesn't look like much. But, once you put them in water they are surely to expand. Same thing with rice. How about you? You may look at yourself and think that you don't look like much. The world can have you seeing what they say is beautiful, successful, educated and so forth. But, I know one thing for sure, God created everything from the birds and the bees. And the trees and the leaves. So I am quiet certain he can take you and make you expand into something quiet remarkable.
We can sometimes stop our growth. Because we don't take the time to nourish ourselves. If you leave dry beans in a bag on an old dusty shelf, will it grow? As long as it does not have the water it needs to expand it will not grow. Same thing with us. If we don't get off the "shelves" to expand we will not grow. If you let God he can take you places that you have never been. We give up on our dreams because we don't think we are good or smart enough to complete the task. But, God can take you where that educated man or woman has ever been. Don't limit yourself because of where you came from. Like the verse says in 1 Samuel 16:7 The Lord looks at the heart. That's all it takes is your heart and your drive to become who you were meant to be.
Prayer: Lord, I know at times I can really be hard on myself. Help Me to see Me through your eyes. I am tired of sitting on the shelf. I want to expand, expand into that great person that you see. No matter what the world may see when they look at me. I know that you are looking directly at my heart. I cast down procrastination. I will be a doer and not just a sayer. Give me the knowledge and the understanding that I need. Bless my feet on this journey. This journey of expansion. In Jesus mighty name, Amen.
