BEAUTY NEVER TRULY FADES

As I was driving in my neighborhood, over three years ago. I can recall when I first saw my home the feeling that I had in my heart. The place was so beautiful to me. Excitement filled my spirit as I thought about living there. As years went by I don’t quite see it the same. The excitement is not quiet there like it use to be. I complain about not having enough of space. I complain about the way the landscape is set up. I loved my landscape when I first moved here. I saw all the beauty in every flaw. I was just so grateful to finally own my own home! Many say that my home is very nice. They see what I saw years ago. Am I just that ungrateful? Did I forget where I came from and can be easily brought back?

Why do we stop seeing the beauty in the things that meant so much to us in the beginning? Its not just things we take for granted. We stop seeing the beauty in people as well. That beauty we saw in our spouse. That beauty we saw in that new job, car. How about the beauty that we saw in ourselves before we had kids. Before we gain all that weight. Isn't the beauty still there? Yes the beauty is still there, because as soon as we lose it we will see it. Taking the blessings that we have for granted can cause us to become blind, we stop seeing the beauty. We lose focus on the feelings that we first had. We get caught up in life and the what ifs, until we forget what we do have. We have to humble ourselves to be blessed. If you don’t like how your house look change some things in it. Buy some new pictures, curtains etc. Same thing with your marriage. It is normal to get bored with the same routine. Switch some things up. Keep things looking new, don’t just throw it away. With anything new you will have that excitement at first but we must continue to nourish it and care for it. Beauty never really fades it’s the eyes that become blind.

God made Man from dirt. Just because something looks worthless does not mean it can not be made into a masterpiece. If you start seeing the beauty in the things that you once saw. It will make you see the true beauty in you.
